The students of Government Girls Secondary School in Jangebe, Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State have regained their freedom.

An official of the state government confirmed the development to Channels Television today, Sunday 28th February.

However, the number of those released, their condition and other details are yet to be confirmed.

The school girls were abducted in the early hours of Friday, February 26th

Reports say they are currently in the palace of the Emir of Anka where they will be transported to Gusau, the State Capital.

The students are said to have been kept in the forest between Dangulbi and Sabon Birnin Banaga in the Maru Local Government Area of the State.

It is not yet confirmed if any ransom was paid to secure their release from their abductors.
