The Edo State Police Command has arrested and paraded the suspect who allegedly k!lled Glory Adekolure, an undergraduate student at the University of Benin (Uniben).

In a shocking revelation, the suspect claimed that his original intention was not to kill the victim but to steal her handbag and phone.

During an interview with Channels TV, the suspect said, “I didn’t want to kill her that night, my intention was to steal her handbag and her phone. I thought there was a lot of money in the handbag because of the way she held onto it.”

He explained that his plan was to take the items and leave her unharmed, but the situation quickly escalated when she resisted his attempt.

He added that “Because of the flashlight I saw pointed in our direction, I slammed her head against a nearby fence and ran away with the handbag. I didn’t know she was already dead at that time.” He believed that the force used would only incapacitate her long enough for him to flee with the stolen items.

The alleged perpetrator’s confession has shed light on the tragic circumstances surrounding Glory Adekolure’s death. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Uniben community and has raised concerns about the safety of students in the area.

The Edo State Police Command’s swift action in apprehending the suspect has been applauded by many who followed the story, and they have assured the public that justice will be served. The case will now proceed through the legal system, where the suspect will face the consequences of his actions.
