The Anambra State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic passing of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North State Constituency I.
The government extended its condolences to the Speaker and members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, his family, and his constituents in a statement by the commissioner of information, Law Mefor.
Mefor stated that security agencies have successfully apprehended the criminals responsible for this heinous act.
All 4 suspects are said to be teenagers who are alleged to kidnap, collect ransom and k!ll their victims regardless.
Equally nabbed is a nurse through whom the ransom was paid.
Giving details of the modus operandi of the gang, Chris Onwugbolu said in a Facebook post that:
The k!dn∆ppers that keel Hon. Azuka collected 100million from his account before keeling him on 26th Dec, 2024 😭😭😭
They sh0t him twice on the head on 26th December, 2024.
A nurse that lives in Asaba helped them to withdraw the 100million.
A native doctor living in Asaba do prepare charms for them.
Their leader (kingpin) is living with the native doctor inside his shrine in Asaba.
All the six boys have been arrested.
Non of them is above 30yrs.
The nurse has been arrested too and her pharmacy shop sealed.
The native doctor has been arrested.
All those boys are living in Asaba except one who lives in Oba.
There are over 3 d€∆d bodies found along side Hon. Justice Azuka’s body.
Those boys said they normally keel all their victims. Once they collect money from you, they will kp∆i you.

While reassuring residents of the state about the efforts of the Anambra State government at ensuring a safer environment, the commissioner for information, Law Mefor said:
“Government commends the swift and decisive action of the security agencies, who worked tirelessly to fish out the criminals responsible for this heinous act.
“Their efforts are a testament to government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and the efficacy of the state’s new security strikeforce, Operation Udo Ga-Achi, which has been recording strings of successes since its inauguration on January 18, 2025.
“Government firmly assures of its commitment to ensuring that justice is served speedily against the culprits and all those connected with the dastardly act.
“Government again calls on Ndi Anambra to continue to support the efforts of the security agencies and the government of Anambra state to make the State safe for all and crime-free.
“Together, we shall build a safer, more secure, and more prosperous Anambra State where everyone can live, work, invest and enjoy.”
