The case against the prime suspect and other suspects in the murder of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Super TV, Usifo Ataga has been transferred to a high court.
This comes after the Chief Magistrate’s Court presided over by Chief Magistrate Adeola Adeadyo said on Monday, that it would no longer handle the case.
He noted however, that Chidinma Ojukwu and some other persons have a case to answer regarding the death of Ataga.
The decision is said to be based on legal advise from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution.
Also, based on the legal advice issued by DPP Director, Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi, 11 suspects were cleared of complicity in the murder of the Super TV boss while Chidinma and two others are to be tried in a high court.
Others set for trial alongside Chidinma include her sister, Egbuchu Chioma and one Adedapo Quadri.
The DPP’s statement reads in part, “After careful consideration of facts available in the case, this office is of the firm view that a prima facie case of conspiring to murder, murder, conspiracy to commit felony to wit; forgery, forgery and making documents without authority contrary to sections 233, 222, 411, 363 and 370 respectively of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, exists against Ojukwu Chindinma Adaora and Adedapo Quadri”.
