12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni’s mom is totally heartbroken as she breaks down in tears, and rains curses on everyone who has allegedly manipulated her son’s autopsy report.
News broke this afternoon, 5th of January that all persons accused of killing her son have been cleared of all charges, discharged and all cases against them thrown out.
The boys who allegedly brutalised him and forced him to ingest a poisonous chemical were also not found guilty of of the crime.
The seniors were in addition, found not to belong to any secret cult.
The decision was made from the legal advise of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ms Adetutu Oshinusi.
The advise was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and trial magistrate, Olatunbosun Adeola.
The final autopsy report issued by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and Toxicology report of post mortem samples and that of the Central Hospital, Warri, were in agreement as to the cause of death.
They listed Septicaemia, Lower Pneumonia with Acute Pyelonephritis, Pyomyositis of the right ankle and acute Bacteria Pneumonia due to severe Sepsis.
The DPP’s advise therefore concluded that there was no prima facie case of murder, involuntary manslaughter and or malicious administering of poison with intent to harm against the 5 students: Favour Benjamin, 16; Michael Kashamu, 15; Edward Begue, 16; Ansel Temile, 14; and Kenneth Iyang, 15.
In her reaction, Mrs Oromoni, Sylvester’s mom thanked Nigerians who have stood by her family in their time of grief.
She submitted the battle that the family finds itself in, unto “the living God.” She called on God to arise and avenge the death of her son.
Sylvester’s mom prayed God to cut short, the lives of anyone who cut short the death of her son. She also rained curses on all those she describes as supporting the killers.
The heartbroken mother cried that they must all feel the pain she is going through.
