There is palpable fear in the Udu local government area of Delta State following an accident involving a tanker loaded with petrol.
The tanker reportedly fell on top of Udu bridge, spilling its content on the surrounding environment.
Road users and business persons under the Udu bridge have now begun to evacuate from the location over the fear of an explosion or fire.
The petrol tanker is said to have blocked the bridge, depriving road users of access to the Sedco area of the town.
Those returning from Ovwian, Owase, Jigbale axis have also been denied access following the spill.
It is not clear what led to the accident at the time of this report.
A Daily Post Correspondent who was at the scene reports that there’s now a serious gridlock on the bridge.
