Tanzanian Female Lawmaker Thrown Out Of Parliament For Wearing Trousers

A Tanzanian female Lawmaker was on Tuesday, 1st of June, thrown out of parliament by the speaker of the House for wearing trousers.

The Lawmaker, Condester Sichwale reported for the day’s proceedings wearing black trousers and a yellow peplum blouse.

Reports say that a male colleague, Hussein Amar, raised questions about her outfit. According to him, “Parliament is a mirror of society and Tanzania and some of our sisters are wearing strange clothes and her legislators. What are they showing to the society ?” Amar questioned.

Amar made his views known in a video shared by Tanzanian journalist, Jay Maudaku.

Pointing at Sichwale, The House Speaker, Ndugai then ordered the lawmaker out of the chamber telling her not to return until she has had a change of clothes.

Condester Sichwale later returned in a blue skirt with the same blouse, but this tie around, looking subdued.
