David Imoh, the sound engineer who was burnt to death by a mob in Lagos State, has been laid to rest.
The mob alleged to be commercial motorcyclists, better known as okada riders attacked Imoh near Beer Barn, a leisure facility in the Lekki axis of Lagos on the 12th of May, 2022 and burnt him to death.
He is said to have been attacked by a commercial motorcyclist, who was later joined by large group of other riders after having a misunderstanding over N100.
The death of the young father stirred reactions across the country as Nigerians called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of his killers.
The state police command subsequently arrested five suspects over the crime.
Tears flowed on Friday as his remains were laid to rest at Atan Cemetery in Yaba.
According to a family member, a service of songs was held for the deceased on Thursday, June 2 at the Church of God Mission International, Victoria Island Zonal Headquarters, Garden City of God, T. F. Kuboye Street, Oniru, Lagos.
The state government has since banned the use of okada across 6 local governments in Lagos State.
