Notorious terrorist kingpin, Dogo Gide has revealed why he and his followers invaded Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri in Kebbi State kidnapped over 90 students and teachers.
Sadly, 11 of the pupils abducted during the invasion are still being held by their abductors.
While stating his reason for attacking the school, Gide said he abducted the pupils and teachers of the school to frustrate the government for not fulfilling its side of an agreement.
The terrorist revealed this in a phone conversation with the spokesperson of the FGC Yauri pupils’ parents and guardians, Salim Kaoje.
Unconfirmed reports say that Kaoje’s sister, Farida Kaoje, has been married to Gide.
The terrorist, while explaining to Kaoje why he insisted on collecting the N100 million ransom to release the remaining pupils, said he abducted the pupils to spite the government.
According to Gide, government betrayed him after he was involved in the releasing of pupils abducted in Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.
Gide claimed that government had promised to release his fighters who were arrested after he was involved in the freedom of pupils abducted from Government Science College, Kagara.
He noted that government failed to release his fighters after he helped negotiate the release of the pupils.
Gide said he was instead branded a Boko Haram member.
The terrorists in the 17:10 minutes audio said, “You, you don’t know why I abducted these pupils. Let me even tell why I abducted them in the first place. I was told to get those from Kagara (Kagara pupils) and they would release my people that were arrested. I ordered that the Kagara pupils should be released but after that they betrayed me and refused to release any of my people. They said I’m a Boko Haram member which made me angry. I decided to arrest these people and said my people must be released before I release them (FGC Yauri pupils).”
The banditry kingpin said it was some of the negotiators seeking for the release of the pupils that “spoiled” everything, prompting him to now seek ransom in millions of naira.
