A physically challenged man identified as John Solam, who experienced a transformation after declaring his support for Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has been attacked by thugs in Lagos.
A northerner from Adamawa, John went viral after he held the campaign banner while lying flat on the floor during the one million march held nationwide in May 2022.
The man had declared his support for the former Governor of Anambra state, when he was still an aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Peter Obi dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to join the Labour Party where he emerged as their presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.
Well-meaning Nigerians rallied around and bought an automatic wheelchair for John.
However, months after the gesture, John, who went around telling people about Peter Obi and the kindness he received got beaten up by thugs on Wednesday.
According to John, they had questioned him for campaigning for the LP presidential candidate before descending on him.
John sustained some injuries with his wheelchair destroyed in the process.
