Tinubu Appoints New Special Adviser (photos)

President Bola Tinubu has appointed investigative journalist and editor, Ajuri Ngelale as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

The appointment was confirmed on Monday, July 31 in a statement issued on Monday by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and signed by the Director of Information of the office, Willie Bassey.

According to the statement the appointment takes effect from 31st July 2023 and would terminate at the end of the current administration unless otherwise decided by President Tinubu.

The appointee was a Senior Special Assistant for Public Affairs in the Presidency in the immediate past government.

He worked in the office of former Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Ngelale was also the Assistant Principal Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the 2023 elections.

He served as a staff member of DAAR Communication, owners of AIT and Ray Power, and equally worked at Channels Television.

Ngelale was born to the family of Chief Precious Osaro Ngelale, a former Honourable Minister of State for Water Resources and a German-US-born mother.

Ngelale was raised in Ogoniland in Niger Delta. He had his secondary education at Government Secondary School in Port Harcourt before heading to the University of Kansas, where he reportedly bagged a degree in Political Science.

He is married to an Igbo lady and has 3 kids.

He is said to have, afterwards, acquired another degree in History from the same university. The new Media Adviser to President Tinubu has also worked as a Lead Consultant, Public Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Power.

Ngelale has expressed his appreciation to the president and promised to put in his best.
