It was a mega rally like never seen in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre as the city stood still for the APC’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday but characterised by his muddled up speech.
Thousands of supporters stormed the Teslim Balogun Stadium to drum support for his presidential aspiration.
As early as 9.00am, the Teslim Balogun Stadium was filled to capacity with supporters of the APC’s presidential candidate jostling for space at the venue for the mega rally.
Traffic was restricted to the venue of the rally as major roads were shut and traffic diverted.
Many residents cancelled their movements with those who ventured out, stuck in the few accessible road due to traffic.
It appears, from today’s event, that contesting for votes in Lagos is a huge task unless something drastic happens.
Tinubu arrived the stadium in the afternoon to a tumultuous welcome. The entire stadium was electrified as he stepped in, with shout of ‘Jagaban’ among others.
Sadly, apparently exhausted or distracted by the sheer support, he spoke gibberish once again just like he did at Imo State.
