Total Blackout As The Nation’s Power Grid Collapses Again

News - Women's Perspective

There is total blackout as the nation’s power grid collapses again in parts of the country.

Two of the major power distribution companies, Eko Electric Distribution Company (EKDC) and Kaduna Electric announced the collapse of the national grid on Sunday.

The nation’s electric power grid has experienced several collapses over the years.

Since taking over, Transmission Company of Nigeria, managers of the sector, have not given any spinning reserve to stem the inconveniences suffered by consumers.

The spinning reserve is an online generation capacity that should respond within 10 minutes to compensate for generation or transmission outages.

The EKDC alerted customers of the development in a text message sent Sunday afternoon.
