Tributes Continue to Pour in for Abba Kyari, Social Distancing not Observed at Burial

Coronavirus Pandemic News - Women's Perspective

Tributes continue to pour in for Abba Kyari since his death was announced last night.

Reports say the Chief of Staff to President Muhammad Buhari died at the First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi. The hospital is often patronised by the very rich considering the cost of treatment.

Notwithstanding, Abba Kyari’s political allies and opponents have continued to post emotional tributes. A lot of the tributes speak about his loyalty to his boss, his ability to stay calm in the face of criticisms and pressure.

Everyone, irrespective of political and ideological leanings, speaks about his sterling qualities, how their differences do not matter at this time and how Nigeria as a whole will miss him so sorely.

Ironically, the same scenario plays out during world soccer games or any such occasion.

It indeed is a representation of the of the spirit camaraderie of the typical African populace. In times of tragedy, we all hunker down, huddle together and commiserate wholeheartedly with the one hurting, more so when death is involved.

Some of the messages posted about him by political and even social heavy weights send chills down the spine and make one wonder what the differences were about after all.

As the tributes continue to pour in for Abba Kyari, we are all reminded about the vanity of life, how transient life is… how fleeting the breath of man truly is.

It is also a sobering reminder about why we must all let go of all that separate us. It is a time to team up to make Nigeria a better place for us all and generations yet unborn.

Meanwhile, Kyari’s body has arrived Abuja and is being buried according to muslim rites.

Unfortunately, in the heat of passion, caution has been thrown to the winds as can be seen in the following video and pictures. Mourners are huddled so closely together that hettyosblog worries if Nigeria will not record new cases out of the burial guests.
