President Donald Trump is set to ban social media in the US. This is a fall out of AN altercation between him and the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Twitter had labelled some of his tweets as “unsubstantiated.” The development enraged the POTUS who blamed the Republicans for believing that social media can be used to silence Conservatives.
For him, they tried to silence the Conservatives in 2016 and failed. Trump added that his administration will not let the incident repeat itself again as he will “strongly regulate or close them down.”
In his words, “a Republicans feel that social media platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate or close them down before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do and failed in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that happen again.
“Just like we can’t let page scale Mail-in Ballots take root in our country. It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and theft of ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Like wise social media. Clean up your act NOW !!!
In a move to protect its image and community, Twitter plastered a message on the President’s tweet cautioning that he needs to “get the facts about mail-in bailouts.”
In another tweet, president Donald Trump screamed that “Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as President will not allow it happen !”
And in yet another Tweet, he said that “Twitter has shown that everything we have been saying about them (and their other compatriots) is correct. Big action to follow !”
The world waits to see if indeed President Trump is set to ban Social Media or specifically, Twitter use in the US.
