The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has set some strict conditions for Nigerians who want to travel to Dubai.
The conditions set by the UAE on its visa application page apply only to Nigerians. Anyone wishing to enter the country must fulfill them before being granted a visa.
Among the conditions are that the Nigerian traveller must provide detailed information and the address of their accommodation in the UAE, whether a hotel or residential, a 6-month Bank Statement and a return flight ticket.
These conditions have raised concerns among the Nigerian travelling public who plan to make trips to the UAE for business or tourism.
Before these conditions were introduced, Nigerians could enter and leave the country easily whenever they wanted.
Every year there are 200,000 Nigerians who visit Dubai either for business or tourism.
According to reports, this action might be connected to the recent viral video of some young people who are suspected to be Nigerians.
The people, who were all young men and alleged to belong to a notorious student cult prior to leaving Nigeria were seen fighting in a Dubai community and destroying public property.
