A video of a criminal suspect who alleged that Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu is responsible for the gruesome attacks in Imo State is currently trending.
Hetty’s Media earlier reported that Nwosu was arrested on Sunday, December 26 during the thanksgiving service of his late mother at the St Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama Obieri in Nkwerre LGA of the state.
He was however, set free unconditionally within 24 hours of his arrest after many individuals and groups condemned the mode of arrest.
Uche Nwosu, on his part stated that he was never invited for questioning by the police and was shocked by the brazen assault and kidnap right in the middle of a church service.
Following what many assumed was either a kidnap operation or one of many cat-and-mouse scenes by the sitting Governor, Hope Uzodinma who has had a running feud with his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, the police issued a statement.
In the recently released video which has now gone viral, the suspect accused Nwosu, Okorocha’s former Chief of Staff and son-in-law, of giving money to his gang to attack Imo state.
He further claimed that the politician threatened to make Imo state ungovernable if he does not become the next governor.
The suspect also said that he has never met Nwosu in person but gets his orders through a middle man called Hon. Kingsley Uju.
Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha (born 22 September 1962) is a Nigerian politician of Igbo extraction from Imo State. He is the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district at the 9th Nigerian Senate. He is also the former Governor of Imo State.
