There is an unbelievable development in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the Ekiti State Executive Committee suspends the State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.
A statement released by the party this morning, 25th of September adduces his suspension to “his numerous anti-party activities, especially his role in the recently concluded governorship election in Edo State.“
The party said Fayemi’s activities run “contrary to the provisions of Article 21 (A) (II) of the APC constitution.”
APC further adds that five days before the Edo State election, Governor Fayemi hosted a PDP chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode in Ekiti State government house, Ado Ekiti and used the occasion to plan a coup against the Edo APC.
Party officials also allege that Governor Fayemi was instrumental to the election of the present PDP governor of Oyo State whom he supported to defeat the APC.
The are indications that the APC’s sanction against the governor is in retaliation of his action against some party members staunchly loyal to Tinubu.
The loyalists were suspended yesterday.
Some Peoples Democratic Party faithfuls say that Fayemi’s unbelievable and sudden suspension was a wrong tactical move similar to what APC did to @GovernorObaseki in Edo State. For the PDP members, the governor’s suspension does not work in the interest of the APC but a gain for the PDP
