Unknown gunmen, today, stormed Onueke, Ezra South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State shooting sporadically and looting businesses.
Reports say that the gunmen trailed a customer to a bank and shot sporadically in the air causing staff and customers of the bank to scamper to safety.
The Nation reports that the gunmen shot the man they trailed. At the time of filing our report, it is not yet certain if the victim is alive or dead or whether they succeeded in robbing him.
The report said they did not go into the bank as their interest appears to be the man they followed.
The gunmen left the bank location to loot some businesses in the town carting away cartons of food items and drinks. They soon moved to a petrol station where they robbed all the dispensing agents of cash in their possession.
Police and the military arrived soon afterwards and engaged them in a fierce gun battle which made them to drive away in there vehicle.
