Footages of an unruly crowd hauling stones and dangerous objets at the podium during Tuesday’s APC campaign flag-off have emerged.
There are reports that many long buses conveyed hired supporters across several states and cities to the venue of the rally in Jos.
Efforts by the organisers to calm the angry crowd fell on deaf ears until the dignitaries including the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima left the venue.
Police and other security men stood helpless as the crowd eventually completely disrupted the event.
One of the top members of the campaign team could be heard shouting on top of his voice in hausa language trying to calm the nerves of the angry crowd.
They are said to have been infuriated when the monies they were promised were not disbursed to them.
