During the major crisis within the PDP, prior to the 2015 general elections, The former Aviation Minister and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and spokesperson, Femi Fani Kayode (FFK) swore with his life that he ‘would not leave the PDP.’
In video interview with Channels Television’s Seun Okinbaloye, FFK said:
“PDP is my party and I will never leave the party.
“I will never, ah, the APC ? Absolutely out of the question ! and till kingdom comes, and until Jesus returns, that will never happen.“
When asked why he left the APC then he said, “I’ve told you my reason for doing that at that time.
Earlier on Thursday, the former Minister of Aviation and hitherto sworn loyalist of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode has finally officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was accompanied by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
He added that he was against anything that would cause the disintegration of the country and revealed he was instrumental to the defection of three PDP Governors to the APC.
According to him, the Governors he influenced were Dave Umahi of Ebony State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.
Governor Umahi has however, demanded that FFk withdraws his statement since he had no hand in him (Umahi) defecting to the ruling APC.
For Umahi, it was an insult to all the mentioned Governors.
