After a clear win in the US 2020 Elections, new Vice President Elect’s husband, Doug Emhoff is all set to be the “Second Gentleman” of the United States of America.

He recently quit his job at DLA Piper law firm in preparation for his new role at the White House.

Emhoff had earlier taken a leave of absence from the firm in August when his wife joined Joe Biden as Vice Presidential candidate.

A partner at DLA Piper, the 56-year old Second Gentleman finally decided to quit so he can effectively play his new role.

Kamala Harris’s Husband joined DLA Piper in 2017 where he works with the media, sports and entertainment clients.

Emhoff Doug also handled intellectual property and technology, litigation, arbitration and investigations.

His official profile describes him as “a highly experienced litigator and strategic adviser.”

He “is known for tackling and resolving the toughest problems – whether by aggressively litigating hight-stakes cases in the public glare or acting as a trusted adviser behind the scenes.”

Kamala Harris’s husband is currently working with the Biden transition team to establish a role for him in the new administration.

Speaking with Fox News, a Biden official said that Mr Emhoff was “working with the Biden-Harris transition team to develop the portfolio he will focus on to support the work of the administration.

In an interview last month, Doug described what he thinks of the role of the Second Gentleman.

According to him, “I think it would be an incredible honour… I’m going to hopefully work on things like access to justice and access to opportunity and access to the American Dream.”

He told People Magazine that he had no interest in joining any “kitchen cabinet. I am her husband, that’s it.”

“She’s got plenty of great people giving her political advise. I’m her partner, I’m her best friend and I’m her husband. And that’s what I’m here for. I’m here to have her back. “

Emoff and Harris met on a blind date in 2013. They got married a year later in a quiet wedding ceremony.

The couple share a $5 million home in the exclusive neighbourhood of Brentwood, Los Angeles.

They also have apartments in Washington DC and San Francisco.

In a post last night, the couple looked great together as they visited some veteran alumni.
