Michael Collins Ajereh, the producer and music executive, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has urged men to be more serious about combating paternity fraud.
He urged men to conduct DNA tests on their children to ascertain their true paternity.
According to him, conducting a DNA test is more important than naming any ceremony.
On his Instagram story, Jazzy wrote, “DNA test is more important than naming ceremony.”
Nigerians have been divided over whether DNA tests are necessary or not, given recent cases of paternity fraud.
Controversial figure Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), also voiced his agreement with the music mogul Don Jazzy, recalling public outrage when he requested Mohbad’s widow to do the test to ascertain the paternity their son.
At that time, VDM suggested that Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, should undergo a DNA test to aid in the investigation surrounding her husband’s mysterious passing. This call led to significant online criticism.
