Nigerians are sore-aggrieved and have taken to social media to express their grievances after a palliative warehouse was discovered in Osun State two years after the COVID-19 lockdown.
The country had initiated three phases of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 after which the government proffered the option of palliative for citizens.
In the thick of the pandemic, when many citizens were jobless and hungry, many stormed warehouses to help themselves with stashes of food items stored away by state and local governments.
In most cases, the palliatives was assumed never intended to be shared while a particular politician in Lagos used her stash as a birthday party giveaway to her private guests.
A warehouse reported to be in Ede near Adeleke University is said to hold food items from 2020 meant to be shared with citizens but were hoarded instead.
Unfortunately, palliative, are expired and no longer fit for human consumption before the locals of the township discovered them.
