The wedding invitation card for Yusuf Buhari, Son of President Muhammadu Buhari and Zahra Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi has been released.
Information on the invitation card shows that the grand wedding is scheduled for August the 20th at the Palace of the Emir of Kano by 1:30 pm.
Reports also say that the wedding would have taken place earlier but the absence of Mrs Aisha Buhari, the groom’s mother earlier in the year, informed the postponement.
She was away in Dubai on a medical trip for 6 months.
A source said that, “Now that his mother returned a few weeks to Ramadan, (Muslim holy month), it is clear that the wedding will take place after Sallah holidays.”
A delegation of Nigerian Governors and ministers have been responsible for formalising the wedding plans. They were at the palace of the Emir of Kano on Sunday to put finishing touches to all arrangements.
The Emir of Kano who hosted the delegation from the president, is the senior brother to the Emir of Bichi, the bride’s father.
The delegation was accompanied by relatives of the first family to finalise plans for the wedding.
