The Bafana Bafana of South Africa has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Eagles over their victory in the AFCON semi-final match.

This comes after Nigeria eliminated them from the semi-final of the ongoing 2023 AFCON.

In a goodwill post on social media, Bafana Bafana gave the Nigerian team credit for their excellent performance in getting to the competition’s finals.

They also appreciated the citizens of their country for their unwavering support throughout the tournament.

This comes after Nigerian citizens in South Africa expressed fears of xenophobic attacks should the Super Eagles defeat their host’s team.

The Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria sent a message to Nigerians to avoid loud celebrations that may lead to outrage by the citizens of South Africa.

On its part, the host government replied the Nigeria High Commission that the fears were absolutely unnecessary.

The goodwill message from Bafana Bafana:

“Well done to Nigeria 🇳🇬 for making it to the final of AFCON 2023 South Africa 🇿🇦  Thank you so much for your unwavering support for @BafanaBafana throughout this tournament.”

Reactions:

Mayor Nigeria: “Shoe get size Okirikha Get Quality. Afrobeats use the beat to beat Amapiano. The Strongest Eagle”
