Popular Nigerian music star, Davido has disclosed that Wema Bank wants to have a meeting with him after his friends and fans donated an unprecedented sum of money for his birthday.
The father of 3 made the revelation via a Twitter post on Thursday.
Davido caused an unusual buzz on social media when he received over N150 million for his birthday from friends, fans and family members.
On Tuesday, the singer made a video post requesting N1 million form each of his friends, fans and family members to enable him mark his birthday.
Many thought the billionaire singer and philanthropist was joking but soon, the donations started pouring in with many people scrambling to identify with the challenge.
In the video, Davido stated that, “We rise by lifting others, abi ? Me I don dey rise dey lift others for the past 100 years. So I want to know who are my friends. All of my friends, one one million Naira ! They said we are 30 billion gang, abi ? If you don’t send your own, you’re out of here, you are gone !”
Soon after the post, donations began pouring in to his Wema Bank account. Some gave N1 million, others gave much more.

Some gave bitcoins, Tiwa Savage’s son gave his donation in dollars, a random person that Davido met in a mall in Marrakech, Morocco gave an undisclosed amount in thousands of dollars right in the mall.
While giving an update on the donations made so far into his Wema Bank Account, the singer disclosed yesterday afternoon that the bank now wants to have a formal meeting with him.
The agenda and time is not yer known.
