‘What I Did When My Husband, Barack Wanted a Third Child’ – Michelle Obama

In an unusual cyre revelation, former US First Lady, Michelle Obama has offered a rare glimpse into her private life, describing her reaction when her husband, former president Barack Obama, wanted to have a third child, a proposal she flatly declined.

Speaking during an appearance on Kylie Kelce’s ‘Not Gonna Lie‘ podcast this week, the 61-year-old mother of two candidly spoke about their family planning decisions, shedding light on how she and Barack had differing views on expanding their family.

Michelle and Barack, who will mark 33 years of marriage this October, share two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.

I was like, ‘I think I’ve been lucky with these two,’” Michelle recounted.

She recalled how Barack suggested having a third child, to which she responded with exasperation, “Dude!” She went on to admit her concern at the time, “We’re gonna get a crazy one.”

Michelle Obama also opened up about the emotional weight of early motherhood, acknowledging the struggles she faced after giving birth.

“I think the sadness or the postpartum that I felt with my kids really came from, like, you love these babies so much,” she shared.

“You immediately, you’re connected, and you think, ‘Oh my god, all you have is me. I feel so bad for you. I wish you had a parent,’” she added.

Her reflections echoed with Kylie Kelce, who is expecting her fourth child with NFL star Jason Kelce.

The conversation transitioned into the unique bond between fathers and daughters, with Michelle highlighting that Barack has always been surrounded by strong female influences.

“That’s because that’s what your husband deserved,” Michelle joked to Kylie.

“That’s what I told Barack, ‘Dude, you need a bunch of women in your life to smack you around,’” she added, according to Daily Mail.
