‘What My Daughter Told Me The Day Before She Was M*rdered’ – Mother of Lady K!lled by Boyfriend

Stories from the heart

Ojomachenwu Adaidu, the mother of late Salome Adaidu, has shared her last conversation with her daughter, who was allegedly beheaded and butchered by Oluwatimileyin Ajayi.

Salome, a 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja, tragically lost her life after visiting Ajayi’s residence in Papalana, New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Ajayi was reportedly caught attempting to dispose of her body on Sunday.

In an emotional interview with BBC Pidgin, Ojomachenwu recounted her final interaction with Salome. She said she called her daughter on Saturday to check on her, as was their usual habit. “I asked where she was, and she told me she was washing clothes,” Ojomachenwu recalled.

I then asked if she was washing alone, and she replied that the firstborn child was in the living room cleaning it.” This seemingly ordinary conversation would later turn out to be her last with Salome.

The heartbroken mother told BBC that she grew worried when she could no longer reach her daughter later that weekend. Efforts to contact her proved futile, leaving the family in anguish. The devastating news of Salome’s d3ath reached them shortly after, plunging the family into grief. “She had so much life ahead of her, but it was cruelly cut short,” Ojomachenwu lamented.

Salome, described by her family and friends as hardworking and kind-hearted, had been serving in Abuja as part of her NYSC program. Her visit to Ajayi, who is now the prime suspect in her m*rder, marked the end of her promising young life. The tragic incident has sparked outrage, with calls for justice to be served swiftly.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Salome’s d3ath.

For Ojomachenwu and her family, their hope lies in ensuring that their daughter’s d3ath will not be in vain and that justice will prevail.
