An elder statesman whom many describe as the father of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye  has shared a heartfelt testimony of unwavering faith in the face of unimaginable loss.

Reflecting on the darkest moment of his Christian journey, Pastor Adeboye recounted the d3ath of his son, a tragedy that tested his faith but ultimately reaffirmed his trust in God.

Speaking to a congregation gathered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to celebrate the 80th birthday of Reverend Uma Ukpai, Pastor Adeboye recalled the events leading up to the loss of his son. He said, “On a Sunday evening, my son called me,Daddy, the weekend program was extremely successful. Glory be to God! Thank you for your prayer support.’”

Just two days later, on Tuesday night, he received the devastating news that his son had passed away unexpectedly.

Despite his grief, Pastor Adeboye was faced with the responsibility of delivering a sermon on Friday. In a powerful demonstration of faith, he chose to fulfill his pastoral duty, leaning on God for strength. “My faith was deeply tested,” he said, “but I knew I had to preach. God remains faithful, even in the most painful moments.”
