The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has revealed what the presence of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, at the wedding Fatiha of Amir, the son of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, means for today’s Nigeria.

Akpabio described it as a sign of a united country.

Photos of the LP flag bearer as he honoured the Deputy Senate President’s invitation has elicited reactions across different demographics.

Speaking after the wedding in Kano on Friday, Akpabio noted that the presence of many high-profile personalities at the wedding ceremony attests to the fact that Senator Barau is a peaceful man of the people.

You can see that even Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his people are here; this tells you that Nigeria will remain united as one entity,” he said.

Also at the wedding Fatiha, were the Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The Fatiha was between Amir and Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, the daughter of the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Aliyu Sani Madaki.
