Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave Governor Nyesom Wike his opinions about a number of issues and observations while commissioning projects in Port Harcourt.
He said that if judges must function effectively, they must not be left to wallow in squalor.
The former Governor of Lagos State shared his thoughts before commissioning the Magistrate’s court and residential quarters in Rivers state on Thursday.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu added that, “whatever people like they should say about Governor Nyesom Wike, my own is that I am grateful he hosted me. I also love the fact that in the request (paying governors who construct federal roads) he made yesterday, he didn’t ask for a personal commitment. He rather asked for a policy which would help the nation.”
He also noted that, “I want Governor Nyesom Wike to know that there can only be a president at a time. I am also using this moment to thank him for fulfilling the promise he made to the People of Rivers. When I also get into office, I will fulfill the promises I made on policy formation. The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable and that is what Governor Nyesom Wike and I are promoting jointly.”
When Wike appeared to be in a hurry to get Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to some state needs, the president-elect adviced him to, “please, go and and get educated and informed. I have not been sworn-in as president so I cannot commit myself to an expenditure (when my tenure is yet to start).”
