WhatsApp is back after a near 2-hour downtime on Tuesday.

The messaging app owned by Meta went off air in Nigeria and several other countries for hours as users making it impossible for users to send or receive messages on the app.

WhatsApp outage was experienced at about 8:00am on Tuesday morning, sending users enquiring what went wrong.

The outage prevented sending messages to groups, while personal messages display only one tick, an indication that they are sent but not delivered.

No reason has been given for the glitch but it is hoped that Meta, the parent company of the messaging app would update its millions of users.
