Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, has said that the ongoing conflict between the Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, now the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, is a divine orchestration.
According to him, the conflict is in response to the wailing of the people of the state over the alleged high-handedness and annexation of the state and its resources by Wike as part of his private enterprises.
Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said that Fubara had done well for adhering to the counsel of responsible Rivers leaders and stakeholders by moving to severe the state from Wike’s dominance.
In a statement made available to the media, Eze described Wike’s eight-year reign as the worst period in the annals of Rivers State.
He claimed that during Wike’s tenure, the state was run without any clearcut fiscal policy framework, but at the whims of an unsympathetic and merciless emperor.
Eze said that the Wike era was a watershed and will continue to be of unblessed memory, adding that it was a period in which all manners of anti-people, undemocratic strategies were deployed to ensure that other political parties are denied their constitutionally guaranteed right to campaign, and opposition political leaders were either maimed or their business activities crippled.
Continuing, Eze said the Wike period has gone down in history as a period when the government of the state could not attract one single foreign investment.
He accused the Wike administration of importing a strange system of governance unknown to any civilized state where billions of the common patrimony of the people were handled and determined by a single individual.
“If not that we live in a country where institutions like EFCC doesn’t work, what gut will Wike have to state in the public glare that no elected public office holder from Rivers State bought forms to participate in the 2023 general elections; that he single-handedly bought all the forms in which they used to participate in the 2023 general elections,” Eze said.
Eze said all the listed anomalies and many more are what “God saw and orchestrated the conflict between Wike and his political son in order to free the state from the evil hold and therefore those who are attempting to support Nyesom Wike against Fubara are indirectly attempting to confront God and if they don’t retrace their steps, they may live to regret their actions
