A Former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has suggested the likely reasons the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit peed on himself while opening a road project on Tuesday.
The politician said this in reaction to the viral video of the moment the 71-year-old suddenly discovered a pool of urine that had flowed from him wetting his well cut pants.
The elderly Mayardit’s incontinence became obvious during the recitation of the national anthem and the event was broadcast live on television.
The implication was that nothing could be done to rectify the embarrassing situation as he looked down at the little puddle and continued the state function.
He is said to be suffering from a urinary tract infection, which is common in elderly men.
The viral video elicited mixed reactions from the international community and Sani said the President may have been extremely patriotic.
Adding the to many reactions, Shehu Sani said: “I have seen a viral video of the President of South Sudan wetting himself in public.
“This may be a urinary sickness or an extreme act of patriotism; refusal to excuse himself while the national anthem was being played.”
