A housewife who introduced herself as the wife of a foreign Affairs Officer, Mohammed Tafida has cried out to President Bola Tinubu for help.
She said herself and her children have endured domestic violence since she got married to her husband who she revealed is the son of a former Ambassador, former Minister and popular Senator, Dr Alhaji Sarki Tafida.
She introduced herself as the daughter of a notable journalist, Malam Ali Suraju who was the former MD of Triumph and New Nigerian Newspapers. Alhaji Suraju, according to her was also a former President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Mrs Tafida added that she has had to run for her life with her children. She added that she has also undergone therapy with all the torture and harassments from her inlaws.
The distraught woman revealed that her husband withdrew the kids from school for a whole year even if she fends for them with handouts from concerned neighbors.
She also said she has spent 4 nights with the children at the NAPTIP premises while her husband filed a case at the Sharia court claiming she is not a devout Muslim. According to her, she fears that the fate of Deborah awaits her.
Sitting in the open with her children and belongings, Mrs Tafida said her father in-law had given them the house in front of which her things littered but later sent thugs to eject her.
Pleading with President Tinubu for help, she recalled how her own father told her about how the president fought for June. She said she is seeking his intervention on behalf of herself and her children.
According to her, police and NAPTIP told her they could not help because hers is a civil case.
She added that a child was forced out of her and when she told her mother-in-law, she told “it’s nothing, that it also happened to her.”
