The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has revealed that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State came against him during the February 25 presidential election.
Obi also addressed those who claim the votes he got in Lagos were mainly from the Igbos.
The former Anambra State Governor gave the statement on Monday when he featured on the Arise Television’s Morning Show program.
He stated that people of different ethnic extractions across the country voted for him during the February 25 presidential election.
“Some people said I got votes in Lagos because of Igbos. How many Igbos live in Lagos? I got more votes from the indigenes in Lagos than those you can call visitors.
“Is it Igbos who voted for me in Nasarawa, Plateau and Abuja? In Rivers where you know that the governor came out against me in everything, if the real votes of Rivers were counted, I won. I have over 50% of the votes, the other 2 parties were sharing the other half.
“I won in Aso Rock. Will you say it’s rigging ? Which machinery do I have to rig ? I’ve no councillor, I’ve no local government chairman, I don’t even know any DPO, so which machinery will I use to rig ?”
