Sources close to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, have revealed that he is set to declare his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike who is presently a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but serving in the APC cabinet as Minister, has set December 15, 2023 to announce his defection to the ruling party.
In the build-up to the 2023 elections, the Minister denounced any form of association with the APC, saying that such move was like leaving malaria to get Cancer.
It is also on record that the former governor worked against his party during the presidential election to secure a slim victory for the APC in Rivers State.
Meanwhile, 27 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who are loyal to Wike, on Monday morning decamped from the PDP to the APC.
