A woman has been arrested by the Ogun State Police command for planning her husband’s kidnap.
The housewife identified as Memunat Salaudeen was nabbed by security operatives on Monday alongside 3 men.
A team of the Federal Highway Patrol led by Inspector Sunday Imohiosen on a stop and search duty apprehended the suspects at about 6:30pm along Papa/Itori road.
The 3 men include Olayinka Lawal, Asungba Nura and Usman Oluwatoyin. The patrol team said they accosted them because they looked suspicious.
The security operatives searched them and found a cutlas and new rope in their possession.
They were then separated and questioned on their motive with the cutlas and the brand new rope. Each of them gave conflicting statements.
On further interrogation, they revealed their planned kidnap. They added that a woman named Memunat Salaudeen gave them N8,000 to procure the rope and the cutlas for the operation.
They men disclosed that the woman is a nurse in their area at Balogun Tuntun Gas Line, Ifo. She had ordered them to hide somewhere while she lures her husband out to the area so they could kidnap him and ask for ransom.
Memunat was also brought to meet the 3 men in police custody. When she saw them, she confirmed that indeed the decision to kidnap her husband was hers.
She added that the husband was so stingy that he would not give her any money, so she planned the abduction to extort him.
