One of the many accusers of jailed R&B singer, R Kelly, said he paid her $200000 compensation after he sexually abused her and infected her with herpes.

The woman simply identified as Kate during a hearing on Friday, 3rd of September testified against R Kelly on sex abuse allegations in Brooklyn.

She said she was 27 when she met Kelly in 2001 and contracted the disease after they slept together.

Kate said that R Kelly was worried about the negative publicity the revelation might have on his reputation but that they settled in 2004

She added that the disease ‘greatly affected’ her ability to enter into future relationships.

Her personal physician confirmed that indeed she was infected with herpes and he also treated the singer for several years.

During cross examination, R Kelly’s lawyer, Deveraux Cannick reaffirmed an earlier testimony that his client demanded that his girlfriends followed strict rules.

The rules include asking Kelly’s permission to go to the bathroom, looking away from other men and not speaking about Kelly in his absence.

Several witnesses testified to the rules at various court hearings.

Nonetheless, Kate told Cannick that she enjoyed preferential treatment from his client including feeling free to use the bathroom whenever she wanted, not being kept waiting for long periods and helping him write his song lyrics.

Robert Sylvester Kelly popularly known as R Kelly, 54, has been on trial since August 18 over a series of sex abuse allegations with women and girls.

The hearings reveal that he was assisted in the racketeering by his assistants and employees.

He has continued to plead not guilty to all allegations.
