Nigerians have condemned Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for congratulating the winner of the Big Brother Naija All Stars Season Reality TV Show, Ilebaye Odiniya.
The governor said in a statement issued by his media aide, Onogwu Mohammed, that her victory in the show, which ended on Sunday, confirmed her brilliance, perseverance and humility.
The governor described Ilebaye as a true trendsetter and Kogi’s pride and a beacon of inspiration and motivation to other youths, not only in the state but across Nigeria.
According to him, “I am delighted to congratulate one of our own in Kog, Ilebaye Odiniya, for emerging as the winner of the Big Brother Naija Allstars Season reality television show.
“Ilebaye, you are a trendsetter and Kogi’s pride, who has excelled in both academic and social spheres.
“This victory is a testament to your brilliance, intellect and maturity. Your determination, resilience, and poise set you apart during the three months you spent in the house.”
Governor Bello acknowledged Ilebaye as the face of a positive revolution in the history of African entertainment, not only for the youth of Kogi but for Nigeria, Africa, and the global community.
Reacting to the development, some observers took to social media to condemn the governor for congratulating Ilebaye and failing to respond to complaints of bad roads and matters affecting the citizens of the state.
