The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys have gone spiritual but their operatives are not deterred.
The Anti-graft agency made this known in a statement in its Facebook page on Wednesday following the recent surge in reported cases of ritual killings in the country.
The EFCC stated that it will intensify efforts to arrest all internet fraudsters denting the image of the country, adding that its agents will go after them no matter the sacrifices they offer or rituals they perform.
According to the anti-graft agency, it has come to its attention that Yahoo boys now go spiritual, offering sacrifices and performing rituals in order to make money.
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission wrote: “Yahoo boys now going Spiritual. Even doing money Ritual and making it the new Usual. We will come for those individual(s). Tell them, it won’t be business as usual.
“No going back on the onslaught against yahoo-yahoo or yahoo-plus, whatever nomenclature. Give up, or give in. The Eagle will get you anytime, anywhere!“
Reactions:
Nweke Felix Chizoba I commend you guys for this but kindly extend the hand of goodwill to Nigeria politicians. They are Chief Yahoo men we have in Nigeria.
Chinedu Emmanuel Obi As you’re fighting Yahoo boys, also attack these useless politicians that have stolen and still stealing the future of the youths.Don’t make the fight one-sided because it’s the heartless and inhumane acts our politicians perpetrated from 1960 till date that got us into these present precarious situations.
Oghenevwarho Gabriel Ojakovo I think money rituals is not part of your mandates. The Nigerian Police should be proactive against ritualist.
Humfree Okey Eze In as much as I condemn the activities of yahoo boys with the Eagle, I’m still of the opinion that goverment should be held responsible for this. When youths have the jobs they are doing, they won’t think about yahoo as no one likes to be a criminal.Goverment should provide jobs for the youths and create enabling environment for business to thrive in this country. Also, EFCC should build schools that would train the youths on Internet related businesses as there are genuine ways to make money online.
