Yinka Odumakin’s Burial Set for April 24th

Wife of Yinka Odumakin, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin has announced the late human rights activist burial date.

According to her, it is set for Saturday, the 24th of April.

The widow made the announcement of the rites of funeral service available to News Agency of Nigeria.

According to her, “the rites will span three days, starting from Thursday, April 22, Friday 23 and Saturday, April 24.

“There would be a day of tributes and service of songs at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, between 11:00am and 4:00pm while his body lies in state on Thursday, April, 22.

“On Friday April 23, his body departs Lagos for Moro, his country home, in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State.

“There will be a Christian wake keep by 5:00 pm at the Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro, which will be followed by a candle light procession.

According to the bereaved widow, there would also be a lying in state at Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro by 8:00 am on April 24.

Joe Odumakin added that the lying in state “will be followed by a funeral service by 10:00 am, after which his remains will be committed to mother earth in a private interment.

The late Afenifere spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin died at the age of 54 on Friday, the 2nd of April after a protracted battle with respiratory ailment brought on by covid19 complications.
