Yoruba Activist, Sunday Igboho’s House Set Ablaze

There are reports that the Yoruba activist, fighting the course of the people of the region, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho has had his house set ablaze.

Sunday has been fighting the course of the Yoruba people who he considers oppressed by rampaging bandits in recent years.

The Oyo State Police Command said it received reports of the movement of hoodlums in a bus and taxi very early this morning.

They drove to Igboho’s residence at the Soka area of Ibadan, shot sporadically in the air and then set his house ablaze.

The information was given by the State Police Public Relations office, Olugbenga Fadeyi on Tuesday.

Fadeyi said the incident occurred at about 3:00am this morning after the electric power supply was cut off.

According to him, “At about 6:20 hours of today 26.01/2021, a report was received at the Santo Police Station that she unidentified hoodlums came to Sunday Igboho’s house at Soka area of Ibadan in a Hummer bus and a Micra (taxi) firing sporadically, and set the house ablaze.

“The mini sitting room got burnt in the process while the value of other property is yet to be estimated.

“Immediately the DPO Sanyo got a wind of the incident, he contacted fire service while he also went to the scene for on the spot assessment.

“The fire was eventually put out. An investigation has commenced into the incident while the police are on the trail of the hoodlums.”
