News - Women's Perspective

A young banker has committed suicide as his body was found dangling from his apartment ceiling fan at Modinatu Street in Ogba, Lagos. His body was discovered on Tuesday morning.

Neighbours became worried when by evening, Kelvin Rhima was not seen outside his mini flat by afternoon. According to them, when they peeped through his window, his body was found hanging from his ceiling.

A neighbour Barry Olanrewaju said that “Kelvin was a calm person so we didn’t notice on time.

“When we didn’t see him on Tuesday morning outside, we felt he was sleeping inside but when it was getting late we got worried because there was no padlock at the entrance to indicate that he had gone out.

“When we tried to open the door, because it was locked from inside, that was when we began to bang on the door.

“By the time time we went to the window, hw was seen dangling and his tongue stuck out. From the look of things, it was obvious that it was on Monday he died because the corpse had begun to bloat.

Neighbours said they reported he suicide to the police who came to assess the situation. Unfortunately, the police made to arrest all the neighbours as culprits. Each one of them was then taxed N2,000 each to avoid being implicated.

The young banker left a suicide note addressed to his father and girlfriend which was discovered by the police.
