A young female lawmaker representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs Mojisola Alli-Macaulay is under fire for calling Nigerian youths on social media drug addicts.

She said this during her submission at the October 26th plenary of the House.

The session discussed the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests and the looting and violence that trailed it.

According to the University of Lagos Law student, “we need to begin to orientate our young people. They are high on drugs all the the time, most of them.

The lawmaker said that being unemployed should not push anyone into any vice. This, according to her is in view of the fact that she has lived in the UK where incidentally, there are also jobless youths.

Rarely do you find any of those youths, misbehaving.

She enjoined them to embrace entrepreneurship instead of indulging in drug addiction or complaints about being jobless.

Just like the backlash that trailed Desmond Elliot’s position that social media be regulated in Nigeria, Mojisola Alli-Macaulay has been taken to the cleaners.

A video soon emerged showing her distributing #COVID19Nigeria palliatives which she is alleged to have repacked for her birthday take-aways.

Some of the souvenir bags had her picture were labeled as “Happy birthday Hon Mojisolaoluwa Omokehinde Alli-Macaulay”

A part of the souvenirs also read “Mama Amuwo.”
