A 28-year old man is reported to have committed suicide today in Imo State.
The incident took place in Reverend Father Basil Nze’s compound.
EasternReport says that the un-named man is from Akwa Ibom State and has worked for years as a cook for Reverend Nze.”
The Reverend Father is also said to be a school proprietor at Azaraegbelu secondary school in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government.
The young man was relieved of his duties but returned today, Friday to plead with the Reverend Father to take him back since he could not get another job due to the of unemployment of the country.
Unfortunately, the Father refused to take him back so he decided to commit suicide by hanging himself to a tree behind the house.
The report says that the young man may have been laid off many months back without pay. They add that his state of hopelessness could have caused him to take the hard decision.
