News - Women's Perspective

A young man has taken to his social media accounts to lament how men of the Nigerian Police stopped him and collected the N150000 he had on him.

According to the heart-broken young man, the money was meant for the house rent of his family.

Narrating his ordeal with his grand mother beside him, the young man revealed how he was on his way to the bank to deposit the N150000 which was given to him by his grandmother for house rent.

A short distance into the journey, a car drove in front of the bike he was on, stopped abruptly and demanded that he alight.

When he got down, he saw 4 police men who insisted that he was a yahoo boy and demanded he hand over his phone to them.

They ran checks on his phone but found nothing incriminating. The police officers then insisted he was a “yahoo boy” (fraudster).

The armed policemen asked his destination and he explained that he was on his way to the bank to pay some money that his grandmother gave him.

They forced him to hand over the money to them, hitting him on the stomach and dealing a few slaps on his face.

He was thereafter pushed into their vehicle and driven off from Apata to Iwo road.

The young man posted his ordeal on his social media accounts.
