Former Senator Dino Melaye has alleged that Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, forcibly retired his vice-president, Bishop David Abioye.
In October this year, the church revised the retirement age from 60 to 55.
At the time, Abioye was 63 while the second vice-president Bishop Thomas Aremu was 67.
Melaye, in a post on X on Sunday, claimed he did not attend Shiloh 2024 at Canaanland, because it won’t be the same without Abioye.

Senator Dino Melaye has queried the retirement of a popular pastor of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Abioye.
In a post shared on his Instagram page today December 15, Dino said he did not attend Shiloh 2024 programme because Abioye would not be attending. He then asked why Abioye was ‘forcefully’ made to retire when he is younger than the founder of the church, David Oyedepo.
Dino wrote ;
‘’I did not attend Shiloh 2024. Because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow. I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired. God did not retire Abioye,only Oyedepo did. Let’s watch.. Senator Dino Melaye”
