Paul Ibe, spokesman of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has likened the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu’s quest to be president as a drug baron applying to head an anti-narcotics agency.
Ibe is quoted as saying this in response to a claim by the spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo.
In a video posted via his Twitter handle on Friday, Keyamo had likened Atiku to a bus conductor applying for a driver’s job, describing him as someone who lacks the needed experience to lead Nigeria.
The APC chieftain stated that added that the PDP candidate has never occupied a position where he could take final decisions on matters of importance.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment claimed that Atiku has nothing to offer Nigerians but only hanging onto the achievements of former President Olusegun Obasanjounder whom he served as the Vice President.
Keyamo said Atiku can not compare himself to Tinubu, who he likened to a driver for eight years, adding that while the PDP candidate answered to Obasanjo for eight years, his principal was in charge of a State at the same time.
Even as Vice President, Keyamo maintained that Atiku was never part of the Obasanjo government as he was disobedient and belligerent.
Responding, Atiku, through his spokesman rubbished Keyamo’s comment and knocked Tinubu.
In a tweet via his Twitter page, Ibe likened Tinubu to a drug baron applying to head an anti-narcotics agency, instead of being in jail.
“Tinubu can be likened to a drug baron applying for the job of head of an anti-narcotics agency when other drug dealers are spending time in jail,” he tweeted.
